6 Days 5 Nights Itinerary in Amsterdam and Belgium - Maison Dandoy

Other than having Belgium Chocolate, you must have the real Belgian waffle too! Waffles are pancakes with abs! I did some research and decideto settle for Maison Dandoy. Maison Dandoy was well-reviewed.

We ordered two waffles, with two toppings each, 1 cup of hot chocolate and one pot of tea. The waffle was made to order. The texture of the waffle was light and fluffy. It tasted delicious on its own. We had mixed berries compote, strawberries compote, vanilla ice-cream and crushed speculoos as toppings. If you prefer something sweeter, order the strawberries compote. There's nothing special about the ice-cream or speculoos. The hot chocolate was pretty good too, but it's slightly too sweet for my liking.

The waffles are relatively expensive too!

You may want to take note that you have to wait almost 30 minutes or more if you wish to dine in. No one was at the door to serve us when we visited the place. You would not be given a waiting time. It is best that you linger around and get a table by yourself. If not, you would forever be waiting without knowing when you can sit down.

In conclusion, it was an expensive experience to dine at Maison Dandoy. However, I do think it's worth giving it a try. Alternatively, you can always try the waffles from another restaurant or even the waffles trucks! Waffles from the waffles trucks were pretty good too!

Let me know if you have other recommendations in Belgium.

x, Esther
